I started riding bikes when I was only 6 years old.  My dad was into
mountain biking and would take me out on the trails on my single-speed
coaster brake GT Dino bmx bike.  We started out with small rides and
eventually I could go farther and upgraded my ride.  I have now been
racing mountain bikes since 2001.  My first race was in Bloomington at
Wapehani and I won in my Junior category race.  This really got me going
and I have been hooked ever since.

Up until last year, the only races I had participated in were mountain bike
races.  I joined the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity in 2006 and joined the Little
500 team.  I raced in the 2007 Little 500 race last April and rode more than
half of the race for my four-man team.  I participated in the Spring Series
Events and placed 15th in ITTs as a freshman.  I am pretty much training
year round now for races.  My Little 500 team has been preparing for the
April race since last August with a very specific intense training program.

I am also a member of the Indiana University Cycling Club and plan on
racing in several Spring Collegiate races.  This year, I am looking forward
to doing a lot of road racing over the summer and training for all different
types of racing and improving my ranking in the DINO Expert category.
